Some examples:
  • A number of interpersonal skills workshops for Medical Audit staff in 2 Regions of the NHS. The main emphasis being to improve their influencing skills and increase their impact.
  • A wide range of “Training the Trainer” workshops for Public Health Consultants and Specialists in eight Regional Heath Authorities in the NHS, the Communicable Disease Surveillance Centre; the Republic of Ireland; and the European Programme for Intervention Epidemiology Training. These programme are the basis of accreditation as Educational Supervisors for the Faculty Training Scheme
  • One-to-one executive coaching sessions with an acting Director of Nursing Services of a specialist hospital on interpersonal and management skills for promotion to a substantive position.
  • Facilitated a wide range of “time-out” events with multi-professional and multi-agency groups on such topics as Coronary Heart Disease, Occupational Health Strategy, Clinical Governance leads in Primary Care, Older Persons’ Health Strategy, Strategic Clinical Effectiveness, etc.
  • Facilitated a large number of teambuilding and “Time Out” sessions with different work groups in the NHS over the years including several newly formed Primary Care Group Boards, senior management teams of Primary Care Trusts, Public Health departments, senior management teams of an acute trust, etc.
  • An Organisation Development programme (part funded by the NHS Training Authority) to establish and implement the Griffiths "General Management" approach across a District Health Authority from the Health Authority down to the heads of various paramedical groups. This involved a strategic vision, a development programme plus teambuilding events at different levels of the organisation. This involved working with a new management structure and establishing a strategic vision as well as setting up and establishing good team working within and across a whole range of groups from the Health Authority down to the heads of various paramedical groups.
  • Worked with the Regional Director of Health Care Policy and the Directors Public Health across the region over a two-year period to establish a Corporate Identity and Regional profile for the group. These workshops covered such issues as visioning, image development, stakeholder management, team working, etc.
  • A number of Leadership Development Programmes for newly appointed Primary Care Trust Directors Public Health in the Eastern and South East Regions of the NHS
  • Facilitated two action learning sets for Directors of Public Health of two regions of the NHS on strategic leadership issues.
  • Developed assessment criteria for the selection and development of middle and senior managers in an acute hospital Trust.
  • A series of Leadership Development workshops for senior physiotherapists in a specialist hospital and across North London.
  • A number of interpersonal skills workshops for Medical Audit staff in 2 Regions of the NHS. The main emphasis being to improve their influencing skills and increase their impact.

  • A three-day senior management development programme for a District Council. The aim of this programme was to develop leadership skills in middle level managers in preparation for career progression.
  • A series of management development programmes over several years for middle level managers of a city council who were ‘ear-marked’ for promotion. This programme included indoor training workshops covering key leadership and interpersonal skills and a 3-day outdoor team leadership event.
  • Facilitated a team building event for the senior Management Group of a City Council which involved the exploration of the future direction of the Council over the next 5 years and the building of effective working relationships within the team.
